Hamer Center

Made possible through a generous endowment from the Don Hamer Foundation, the Hamer Center for Community Design was established to elevate the impact of thoughtful community design. The largest stand-alone initiative within the Stuckeman School’s research and outreach missions, the Hamer Center promotes public interest in art, architecture, and design by supporting collaborative research projects, facilitating dialogue between the academic and practitioner communities, and recognizing excellence in planning and design from an international perspective.

The center links expertise at Penn State with local communities and forms partnerships with government agencies, non-profit organizations, and citizen groups to create a more inclusive public commons.
